As an Independent Specialist, we are not answerable to shareholders and therefore are able to offer you a flexible approach to the recruitment process. We work with you to apply our solutions expertise in providing the best method of recruitment for your recruitment need. 

Below are some examples of the various recruitment methods involved:

  • PERMANENT RECRUITMENT

Database Search

This is a straightforward search of the thousands of candidates on our database, which has been built up over a decade, and is the most popular recruitment method when the vacancy is a relatively straight forward role to fill.

We like to work with you in partnership to ensure that we fully understand the job specification and the particular needs of the organisation. 

Our database is specific and extensive – we only register candidates with skills and experience relevant to our marketplace. Many candidates come to us as referrals or recommendations; many have been past clients. In addition, we attract candidates via a number of accountancy specific websites and from time to time we advertise in the local media. As APLUS Appointments is focused on the South Wales and Borders areas, we attract candidates who live locally or are relocating to the area.

On the successful candidate’s commencement, a one-off fee is raised. All permanent placements are covered by our ‘guarantee’ period.

Advertising Campaign

From time to time, you may have a specific vacancy which proves more difficult to fill. We offer a retained advertising service which involves placing an advertisement in the relevant media, sifting and interviewing the response, and presentation of a shortlist for interview. Psychometric testing and competency based interviews are optional within this process.

Executive Search

A combination of the above, in addition we are able to employ head-hunting techniques where appropriate.

  • TEMPORARY RECRUITMENT

There may be times when you have an urgent requirement for extra resource. We provide fully referenced and qualification checked candidates at short notice to cover all eventualities. You are charged on an hourly rate basis and this rate includes all costs such as holiday pay, National Insurance, payroll costs and our margin. You only pay for the hours worked. As an independent, we know how important it is to get the job done with as little time and cost as possible to you.

  • Interim / Set-Term Assignments

You may prefer to engage Temporary Staff directly. In this instance, we charge a fee, usually based on the length of the assignment.

  • RESPONSE HANDLING – ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS

We have in depth experience of handling advertisement response for high volume advertising campaigns. This usually involves assisting in drafting the advertisement, taking all responses, sending out applications and receipt of completed forms, and using a matrix system to assist with first level sifting. Again, we can be flexible in our approach and accommodate your individual needs.
